Sacramento area
Websites for organizations that answer to a mission, not a margin
Dev Christos builds and maintains websites for nonprofits, churches and mission-driven organizations across the greater Sacramento area, and consults on the technology behind them.
- Built around giving, mission and events
- Editable by staff and volunteers, not just developers
- Fast on a phone, which is where most visitors arrive
- Owned outright by your organization
What we do
Five things, done properly
A short list on purpose. These are the areas where a small shop can do better work than a large agency, because the person who builds your site is the person you talk to.
Nonprofit Website Design
Websites built around the two things a nonprofit site has to do: explain the mission clearly and make donating easy.
Church Website Design
Sites for congregations, with service times, giving, sermons and events kept where visitors actually look for them.
Website Redesign
Rebuilding a site that has aged out: slow, hard to edit, unreadable on a phone, or no longer matching the work.
Local SEO
Getting an organization found in its own city: search visibility, map presence, and the pages that answer what people search.
IT and Technology Consulting
Help choosing and connecting the tools an organization runs on, from donor systems to email to hosting.
Why this focus
Nonprofits are not small businesses with less money
A commercial site has one job: turn a visitor into a customer. A nonprofit or church site has several, and they pull in different directions. It has to explain a mission to someone who has never heard of you, make giving take seconds rather than minutes, publish events and times that change constantly, and stay editable by whoever is available on a Tuesday afternoon.
Most web shops treat that as a business site with a donate button bolted on. It is not the same problem, and the difference shows up in the parts that matter: how fast a first-time visitor understands what you do, and how few steps stand between intent and a completed gift.
There is also an ownership question worth asking early. Plenty of arrangements leave an organization renting its own website, unable to move it, and paying indefinitely for access to something it commissioned. Every site built here belongs to the organization that paid for it, including the code and the domain.
That matters most at the moment it usually goes wrong: when the volunteer who set everything up moves away, or the board changes, and nobody can find the login.
